What's next for XL?

Hey, all! Figured a quick update on the future of XL wouldn't hurt.

So obviously right now the game is at Version 0.3, which I think people are having an alright time with. The current goal is to get things working up to Version 1.0 (Which will be as close as I can make it to the original Update 1/1.1, albeit with all the extra XL padding I've been working in.)

After that, I do have a few story ideas brewing. Not gonna say much about what they'll be about right now, but by the end of development (whenever that ends up being), we should end up with at least four big story lines that will follow Update 2.

For now, though, I will mainly be focusing on content for V 0.4. Thanks to the earlier poll, new/returning enemy additions will use the original games' sprites until I finish up their models, rigs, and animations. (It's a pretty tedious process for even one character, so it will take a bit.) I'll also be working to fix stuff I partially added in V 0.3, such as the Dusting Fields, and possibly get in the fishing minigame I keep putting off. Who knows?

Well, that's all the news I have for now.

'Till next time!

New look, new direction.

Yeah, we're doing this.

Still have to address a few tweaks to layering and test some other sidequests, but I think that we're back on track again.

While I chip away at the code for XL, I might as well show off the fruits of another thing I had tinkered with: modding custom music into Bionicle Heroes.

New project is having a fun, early outing.

That time of year again.

Turns out what the game actually needed was for me to take a proper break from development and enough time to realize what I had broken.

(It was the values tied to IDing what foe it'd be.)

It'll likely need more testing, but we're back in buisiness!

How about we change things up?

Save file stuff (sidequests, maps and "autosaving") might currently be a troublesome mess, but at least development on OCN is going pretty smooth.

The more things change, the more they stay the same.
