Introduction:

Hello everyone, J here. Happy Easter and welcome to the first newsletter of Wonders of Patience! These newsletters will be released monthly, showing you all a bit of what we’ve worked on during the month. Keep in mind the things shown here are subject to change in the future. With that out of the way, let’s begin!

Programming:

In terms of programming, we haven’t progressed majorly yet, but we did reach some important milestones, like character movement, collision, room transitions, main menu, and the dialogue system, which now has a differential; main characters like Toriel now have their own text boxes with different colors from the standard white ones! Here’s some screenshots of how the text boxes, both the standard and main characters ones look like!

While not much progress has been made currently, we hope that in the next newsletter, we’ll have a bunch of progress to show! 

Art:

Now, in the field of art, we have a bunch of concept art for environments, characters, etc. But most of them can’t be shown, because they contain spoilers. But, here’s a bit of what we can show currently.

In pixel art, we’ve done quite some things. Like concepts, characters, environments, etc. But as said before, we can’t show everything due to spoilers, but there’s still a lot to show. Enjoy!

Writing:

Now in the field of writing, we have actually progressed a lot! The characters are stable in terms of story, personality, development, etc, and we have the outline for the events of the Ruins and Snowdin pretty done, along with a bit of the new area. Even if we can’t say much yet, we are very excited for you all to see it in the future. So for now, you can take a look at this cute little art of Charlotte!

Music is something we haven’t been focusing much on recently, but we still got some things done. Like for example, the game over theme, and the theme that plays when you first get to Snowdin. Enjoy!
