Nathaniel Mark and Alexander Jones created Jace's Fantastic Diner with animatronics to entertain customers. However, Victor Smith, a rival who hated them, sabotaged the animatronics. The malfunctioning animatronics became unpredictable and dangerous, and it’s rumored they are possessed by something darker. Six children, who are said to have been killed by Victor, are believed to haunt the animatronics, including Specter Jace, though the details remain unclear.
