Death’s Intern is a narrative comedy bureaucracy sim where you sort souls in the Afterlife Administration Office under the worst boss imaginable: Death.

After signing an internship contract in desperation, you instantly find yourself trapped in an endless office where every human soul must be processed, categorized, and filed for eternity. The system is broken, the printer is haunted, and your decisions determine the fate of the dead.

Inspired by the moral paperwork tension of Papers, Please and the existential absurdity of The Stanley Parable, Death’s Intern blends dark humor, supernatural chaos, and bureaucratic satire into a surreal office simulator.

Sort souls into Heaven, Hell, Purgatory, or stranger places that shouldn’t exist. Deal with audits from angels, complaints from demons, and emails from Death himself critiquing your performance. Survive each day, uncover the secrets of the afterlife, and try to earn a recommendation letter powerful enough to escape eternity.

Good news: you got the internship. Bad news: your manager is Death.

Read the file. Interview the soul. Decide their eternity. Please avoid overtime.

Your internship duties:

1. Read the soul's file.

2. Ask the question the file does not answer.

3. Decide whether one honest explanation changes an entire life.

4. Stamp Heaven or Hell.

No pressure. Eternity can wait behind you. #indiegame

“Awesome.”

Why? She hopes someone makes a good true-crime podcast about her.
