What do you think?

played the demo and oh my god is it good. you have gotten a lot better at map-making, dialogues and storytelling in general! absolutely loved all the new faces (and some old ones, too - looking at you, Tals'Ko...) and their dynamics - from the servants at the family mansion to the cutthroat politics of Qwish's garrison - just love it all! the gameplay-heavy parts are good, too - and so are the fights - tough, but manageable.

i've only encountered one problem while playing - in the underground section of Qwish's outpost there's a worker who uses the ladder but doesn't disappear, blocking it off from usage - it's easily fixed by just saving in that part, going to the title screen and then using the ladder like normal. otherwise, no bugs! but i do have two suggestions: first off, some of the skills and ki applications use MP, too, but it's never specified as to what amount of MP they use - it would be nice to include that in the description. secondly, as Elladwen is a much more unique universe compared to your usual rpg maker worlds i think it would be great if it used some custom resources - i heard you had some trouble implement those - may i help somehow? i have also added more stuff to my big folder of vx ace resources and also compiled another folder but with rpg maker stuff from pixiv, too - feel free to use both: https://drive.google.com/drive/folders/1QA3IIgAcm85PlZeysAmdjOinrNrVwzsK?usp=drive_link https://mega.nz/folder/oyUAERST#6Z486zAgj9yL9hG9uo-xuQ

all in all, this is magnificent. can't wait to see more of this beautiful world and especially it's inhabitants - it's just so unique compared to all the other stuff you see on the site that i can't help but cherish it - i'm a sucker for fantasy worlds with detailed lore, too, so that might be a factor, but still - this is great. please, keep working on it - i'll make sure to make some videos on it once a new version drops - until then, wish you well, Maken!!!!

Just played up to where I could (no idea how to survive the spirits onslaught but hey what can you do?) and I thought the demo was pretty good so far. The writing is definitely the strongest part - from the mansion to the garrison, it comes across as lively, I love it! Have you written stories before?

I think the mapping isn't bad either. Still, the interiors are the weaker looking ones - when I look at the mansion, the rooms are big but feel empty?? They would definitely benefit from custom assets so I think you can improve on this.

Then there's the battles - tough but fun. I do think some hints are more useful than others, like the "kill glass cannons first" tip, which doesn't mean anything when everything looks like this so called "glass cannon" type, but it's nice we have a tutorial section at the beginning to explain the rock-paper-scissors gameplay. I think some explains could use less lore and more practical video game orientated explanations - like choosing your saber vs flintlock, as I'm not sure what the major gameplay differences are...

Well, that's all I have to say. Sorry if the review wasn't detailed enough, this is my first time playing the game after all. Keep up the good work and making more chapters! Good luck, Maken!

Set in 2359 in the archipelago of the Far-West, we follow a young noble, Marnen and his most loyal servant, Violadrynn, who has come from the Mid-South to study abroad to a highly prestigious academy that's most well known for their Mage-Craft. Learn the ways of the mage within the Elladwen Universe in this adventure.

Due to having sand in my hard drive, the project has been corrupted. It'll have to be another 4 months to get back where we're at + chapter 2.

Chapter 1 for Journey To The Far-West has been released! There'll likely be updates on the package to fix small bugs I might've missed (the overall package seems fine).

Testing out a few fights (more so bosses & mini-bosses) and hopefully, chapter 1 should be fully released next week (no promises).

Small sneak-peek on some of added areas before proceeding into chapter 2. There likely will be some changes.

Looks a little better but eh... maybe too big (lmafo). Things like these will change even after a full release (which won't be for a while).

Slowly levelling up my level design. Still a lot to improve on, though.

Chapter 1 may be postponed as I started to add more towards the end of it the more I reviewed the project in its current state (make some areas more lively than what has been worked on thus far).

I had accidentally uploaded the wrong file for the new demo build (whoops! this might be a common theme... XD). The correct one is now uploaded!

A new version of the demo has been released! It's mostly just to balance some fights and giving you more options on how to tackle some encounters. Whether or not those options are of any of use to you in any given encounter is to be discovered!

A new version of the demo will be released later today.
