I recently decided I would refurbish an old game I made called "Permafrost", and this concept is the result. Fight through a world in which fire and ice are in an unending conflict...could you put an end to it, once and for all?

Game features:

  • Able to play as two different characters: Yuki from the ice kingdom, and Fumie from the fire kingdom. Both with their own unique mechanics and abilities.

  • A soundtrack with DnB tracks for Yuki, and metal/rock tracks for Fumie

  • If I am able to get it working, the game will have an open world, with zero restrictions on where to go. Players would be able to freely explore both kingdoms, able to switch between both playable characters at will...somehow.

An arcade version will be developed first, where you can only play levels, and with no true story to it. After the completion of this version, the full version can be developed.

This game is currently being developed in the Godot engine, however I will be switching to Redot as soon as it comes out.

So here's an idea:

I've gotten that Suno thing to show me how I can upgrade the menu themes...but I kinda wanna release the Suno versions as public domain.

As in, I won't own the AI-generated versions. No one will. I think that's fair.

Should I do that?

Guys I'm scared

I tried Suno AI and let it use the menu theme I made for Fumie...

I NEED to take notes on what it did...

(I'll only use this for inspiration, I won't use it for the game. Explanation continues in article)

This is just for a general idea of how Fumie will look.

This is being used to model him in Blender at some point.

No, you do not get to see the version without the cloak (It's not NSFW, it's just seecreeetttt! :3)

I've just figured out how to make my game use a TON less resources. I've now uploaded a new release with these changes.

I have no idea how well it can run on regular computers now, but here's how I did it:

(I apologise for the cringey meme)

The current beta version of EmberFrost is now publicly accessible.

Feel free to give it a try! :3

But first, check the article for the recommended specs.
