just played through the game and i have to say that it's pretty cool!) it's short, a lot of fun, has some tough fights (especially in the end), and an interesting twist to the story with a great deal of foreshadowing leading to it - just gotta be attentive and you might just guess what it's about) grinding isn't a problem here and isn't as frustrating as in other games since you gets loadsa money from enemies, and leveling up has an interesting system attached to it - although, judging by your last messages in the game the system in mention was a pain to make - it's an interesting experiment with the concept of leveling up but, yeah...
some other cools things i found were the challenge book, just love the general idea of it) would be nice to make some tie-in trophys in the game for completing it with certain challenges on, bragging rights galore!) next, the armor vendor in the first location moving around after you buy something from him, probably arranging stuff - such a nice detail that adds a lot to the immersion) if only more rpg's did this... next, the description for the text spacer is fucking hilarious, good stuff) the twist with the king suddenly attacking you was also really cool! the foreshadowing that you get if you talk to him before he ambushes you is also a nice little detail) and, finally, the grand restoration potion lying in place where the demon king was is pretty cool, too, and also gives a reason to come back there!)
as you've said yourself, the worst part of the game is probably the balance - even the hardest battles against Lady Lash can be cheesed out just by chugging greater restoration potions - but the game can still be a lot of fun if you just turn on some of the challenges) plus, there's some other, smaller-scale problems, like the fact that for some reason, i can't equip the draconic shield in the shield slot no matter what, and in the second floor of the swamp/demon mansion the statue that you have to interact with to proceed to the third floor is labeled as a crystal in the message, not a, well, statue) and on a final note about the problems - starting a new game+ immediately gives you a game over, for whatever reason. lol.
all in all, this was a short and fun experience) in under an hour i explored some cool locations, witnessed some interesting plot twists and got to use some cool mechanics, and it has a lot of replayability with the challenge book, too! overall, good job, Misfit Games!) good luck with your next endeavor and take care!
