The Return to Freddy's 4 is the fourth installment in the TRTF Saga, a series of FNaF fangames made by Tyler Ahlström. This game is the second sequel in the timeline, set 15 years after the third game. The next game in the series would've been The Return to Freddy's 5 had it not been canceled, making this game the last official game to be released until The Return to Freddy's: Desolation.
Plot Summary
15 years after Fazbear Fantasy Land has been demolished, the government has come to a decision to make animatronics legal again. What they don't realize is the terrible mistake they just made...
Gameplay
The player assumes the role of Blake once again. The player uses the cameras to watch the animatronics, like before, and when one runs past, they must equip the Locker, or in Freddy Fazbear and Lockjaw's case, pull the Smoke lever. If this is not done, the animatronic will attack and kill the player. Additionally, the building has a limited power supply, and the player must pull the Power lever to keep the building from running out of power.

Major Updates
The Return to Freddy's 4 was planned to receive a major update in 2016 (along with all of the other games from Volume 1). All of these major updates were eventually cancelled however, until they were revived and put under the control of TannerFeline in 2017, until the Major Updates were eventually cancelled again. In 2018, it was revived once more with ShaneTheBarbarian being tasked with modelling all of the animatronics for the third game. The Major Updates were eventually cancelled yet again however. Fairytale Ty was planned to be added into the game within these major updates, and so were the fairytale versions of Koly and Sally (which were going to replace their original non-fairytale versions).

Trivia
TRTF 4 was originally meant to release on December 24th, 2015, though the release date was eventually changed.
While TRTF 5 was planned to be the next game in the series, the next game in the timeline was going to be The Return to Freddy's: FRANKBURT'S.
Due to both games being canceled, TRTF 4 is officially the last game to be released by Tyler in a finished state.
Chica, Foxy, and Vigo are absent from this game, most likely since none of them survived the destruction of Fazbear Fantasy Land during the events of the third game.
The newspaper at the beginning of the game has various messages around it.
For example, one says "mew" over and over again, one talks about a TRTF fan movie, and others talk about Tyler's experiences with the games, as well as how he fell in love with Project Suki.
Most of the models have major changes, other than being less damaged. Most notably, their heads are more cylindrical and human-like compared to previous games.
These changes are likely due to Tyler Ahlström's modeling skills improving
An Extras Menu known as Nightmare Fuel is present in the game, featuring the animatronics included in this game and Night 7, also known as DragonDave Mode.
It was speculated that this game possibly took place in 2013, as it was thought that The Return to Freddy's 3 may have taken place in 1998 (see the Trivia section of TRTF 3). Furthermore, this game takes place 15 years after the events of the third one. However, according to The Dreadful Truth, it takes place in 2030.
Tyler's least favorite TRTF game is TRTF 4 according by a post he made on Reddit.
This could have been because the game only took around three to four weeks to make compared to the previous two.
The second teaser featuring Golden Lockjaw states the phrase, "Welcome My Son..." It was a quote from Pink Floyd's song called "Welcome To The Machine."
This is most likely not a coincidence, as that song plays during the ending for Night 6 in the game.
The jumpscare scream was made by Toonster, who was one of the developers of the canceled TRTF 5.
When the player gets jump scared, the office shakes in a great manner.
This may be intentional, though it's most likely a glitch.
The game along side the rest of the Volume 1 games are planned to get official remasters.
Sometimes, when Sally attacks the player, only the first frame of her attack will show, the player will not die, and the full scream will be heard.
While this may not be a glitch, getting out of the Locker while Bonnie is looking at the player will cause her to stay there and remain inactive. This can be used to the player's advantage, as Bonnie is generally one of the hardest enemies to deal with; However, doing this also blocks some of the player's view of the office hallway.
TRTF 4 was meant to remaster TRTF Classic, as mentioned by Tyler Ahlstrom.
