What do you think?

Hello,

I have played your game and here are some feedbacks. I understand the game is still in alpha stage and the assets could be placeholders so some of the feedback may not apply:

The voice is funny at the beginning but it becomes annoying after hearing it more than 5 times.

The puzzles are interesting, it reminds me of the game Portal.

The animation of the dog is not synchronized with its movements it gives the impression the dog is sliding.

The happy decors with little light give a dark atmosphere (similar to a horror game).

The dog seems depressed (eyes).

goodson

I am still working on the game, and I will hopefully soon upload a new updated version of the game. If you chooses to play the game now, I hope you will tell me what you think about the game. I am especially interested in hearing from you, if you think there are somethings that could have been better, or if you have some new and interesting ideas for the game.

The Dog Handler Show - Intro

Welcome to "The Dog Handler Show".

This is a first person puzzle game where you and your dog together has to solve some puzzles. The game is inspired by games like Portals and Q.U.B.E.. The version of the game you find here on Game Jolt is still a early alpha version of the game. There are for now 21 levels in the game, but later there will be many more levels and some more game mechanics.

The game developer
This game "The Dog handler Show" is made by me alone. My name is Jesper Kjær and I am a danish indie game developer, there is in love with making small indie games, and "The Dog Handler Show" is to date my biggest game project.

When I am making games, I loves making everything from programing to animations and music. So in "The Dog Handler Show" I have made:

  • All graphics and animations.

  • All in game programming.

  • All music, sound effects and voice acting.

  • All the levels and all the game mechanics.

  • And sadly it is also me who have made all the bugs and weird game decisions

What can you do for me
As I have already mentioned, this game is a solo project, but I am always interested in hearing what you are thinking about the game. With your feedback, I can hopefully make a much better game. The game is still in a very early alpha state, and this means that a lot of things will be changed, and this also means that you still have the
opportunity to affect the game develpment.

Here are some of the things, I would like your feedback on:

  • Do you like the game idea, and what could have been better?

  • What do you think about the music, sound effects, voice acting, graphics and animations?

  • Do you like the levels and what do you think about the game mechanics?

  • The game has not really a story yet, so do you have a idea for this?

  • Do you have some fun, interesting, weird, or perhaps some really bad ideas for the game?

  • You are also very welcome to tell me about any bugs or any other errors you have found in the game.

The best thing you can do for me, is to tell me what you are thinking about the game. And it is totally okay if you don't like the game.

The game idea
The idea for this game was one I got for the "Epic Game Jam" in July 2016. The theme for the game jam was "Speak softly and carry a big stick". The version of the game you find here, is a newer and more updated version of the game. I promise I will continue updating the game here on Game Jolt.

Controls
To play the game you need a mouse and a keyboard.

  • Controls | Action

  • WASD + mouse | Move player

  • Left mouse button | Click where you want the dog to walk to

  • Right mouse button | Click at a stick/bone to make the dog pick them up, and move them

  • E | Toggle switch

  • Escape | Toggles menu

  • R | Restart level

  • Alt + Enter | Toggle fullscreen

Good luck and have fun
