Introduction:

Hello everyone, The game shown here is the result of my efforts at trying to create my first unity game using only free assets I could find. Excluding the free icons shown in game which I've obtained from game-icons.net, everything else(music, sound, models, particle effects, textures, etc) are free assets from the unity store, the game itself is free to download and play as well.

This game has taken quite some time from me to both code and create (mechanics and lore), I started this project a few years ago and I was working on it on and off until a couple months ago to which I started working on it "full time". I've been a gamer my whole life and a software developer by profession, as such, it seemed only natural that I would eventually be curious to make a game at some point in my life.

Onto the game itself:

Mechanics and Difficulty:

This game has a turn based combat system that stresses on thinking before acting, I was unable to find anyone to actually try the full game and give me their opinion, so I can't tell how easy or hard or even good it truly is since I know it by heart essentially. What I can say is that it's a little bit unforgiving in the sense that you have to understand your own abilities as well as your enemies to figure out a method needed to win whatever battle you may be having a hard time in.

It starts off somewhat easy, there's even a tutorial battle to get you more accustomed to the game and the UI, but after a few battles and learning a few new abilities, the game will be more relentless on decision making and planning.

Lore:

The lore is quite large and something I worked on a few years ago, yet I underestimated the script : game ratio while developing Tribes, so I had to end it much sooner than I would have liked, nonetheless, I hope that players will still enjoy the game play and the small part of the story that was released.

Development process:

Being my first unity game after a few short practice projects, it initially started out as a project to see how far I can go using free assets rather than something I would release. It was an interesting experience developing this game, improvising with whatever free assets I could find on the unity store was a tricky but fun process for me.

I don't know if anyone who downloads and tries the game will enjoy it. I was hesitant to release this game for a while now, but considering the amount of time I've invested into this project, I hope that anyone who tries out Tribes enjoys playing it as much as I did developing it.

Installation:

Extract, open Folder, run Tribes, play.
I recommend to run it on Fantastic at 1920x1080.
