Overview

In Armada, players take control of an advanced futuristic space ship to defend the mothership against an invading alien horde. Players deploy and utilize special turrets to bolster their defenses and provide other bonuses to stave off masses of invaders. Armada is a top-down 2D shooting game with elements of turret defense game play blended in. The player will also gather and manage resources to fund his mothership’s defense.

Controls/Instructions

Moving

The player controls his ship’s movement by pressing keys on the keyboard.

· WASD

o W – Up

o S – Down

o A – Left

o D – Right

· Arrow Keys

o Up Arrow – Up

o Down Arrow – Down

o Left Arrow – Left

o Right Arrow – Right

Attacking

Attacking is controlled by the mouse. Point your cursor where you want to shoot and left-click to shoot there.

Using Turrets

· SPACEBAR – Opens Turrets radial menu

· Left-click to select the turret you want to deploy. Your cursor will change to look like the turret you selected.

· Left-click on open space to place a turret at that location.

Managing Resources

The player needs resources to deploy turrets. The current resources total is indicated in the top right-hand corner of the game screen.

The player can gather resources through two methods:

1. Destroying purple resource nodes that appear in the game. These give a large, but infrequent boost to the player’s resources, so exploring to discover resources nodes is time well spent.

2. Destroying enemies. Individual enemies give fewer resources, but enemies are in no short supply in Armada.
