Birb Spotting is a game that tries to encapsulate the wonders of bird watching (twitching) and in doing so sends the player on a journey to compete with their grandpa's arch-rival in The Big Year. The player will have to sharpen their focus and reaction times to get that bird spotted and ticked off The Big List, but also needs to think carefully about how they want to spend their turn and master the art of patience and quiet to ensure birds do not avoid their spot.

The game centres around The Big Year, the main mission whereby the player needs to complete their ticklist of birds spotted, before their rival does. As well as this, there are also options for small missions like The Big Day (spot more different species of bird in one day than your rival) and species specific missions. Completion of these missions rewards the player with more coins to spend on locations and perks, and XP used to level-up and unlock locations, perks and upgrades.

The game is under-development but hopes to include most British Birds, with scope to go further afield in later iterations and include US birds and Australian/NZ birds.
