The artwork's definitely the highlight in this game - the first boss and Sonia feel especially impressive.
I encountered a fair bit of bugs, though, ranging from being unable to move after whipping (consistently) to being unable to walk through a door if I kept holding the right direction while her animation began playing, to being unable to move unless I initiated burning mode, or the fireball always keeping its position relative to Sonia while getting hit while climbing a rope. I don't know anything about Godot, though, so I can't even begin to throw guesses to help with bug fixing.
Either way, it seems like a solid foundation for expansion as is, though from the end credits it feels like it's a done deal? One way or another, it definitely showcases some terrific pixel art regardless.
Castlevania Legends Demo
This demo is a proof of concept of a Castlevania Legends remake I developed in the month of October just in time for Halloween with the maximum of newly made assets.

As I posted in my social media, this was a project that I did in a whim for Halloween so there are a bunch of issues I couldn't resolve with the self-imposed time limit
v.0.1.3
If no other gamebreaking bugs surface, I'm almost nearing the end of development on this demo since it was intended just to be a quick project and unless I try to do the complete game in the future I don't want to spend too much time with it.
Bug Fixes:
- decreased the ledge deadzone for more precise jumps
- character can't move while activating Burning Mode anymore
- score and velocity adjustments for several enemies
- minor alterations to the stage
- secret room issues fixed
Known issues
- music doesn't loop correctly
- whip projectile can fire in some occasions that it shouldn't (power up activation)
- pathing makes ghost and the boss act jittery during some animations
- boss health bar animation plays twice
- weird behavior regarding the projectile and ropes (thanks @AcidoCinza
)
