Donny Donut : Dokrats

nice demo with a lot of promise. the game is pretty cute and with a lot of soul in it - it hits the nail on the head with most of the gameplay features and 90% of the demo's problems come with the text, or, more precisely, the parts that weren't translated to english. the plot wraps it all up nicely - it's rather cliche but in an endearing way. i like up. plus, the idea of a world with talking food running around doing stuff sounds nice and is executed well in here.

here's a rundown of all the things of note i've found while playing the demo. beware of spoilers:
+ i find it nice how the game highlights interactable objects when you're facing them, though the number of such objects decreases over time, alack...
- it's too dark in the candy shop and the underwater ruins. i can barely see anything, even with my glasses...
- the Reveil item is in french whereas other items are all in english
- all the doors in the commercial district have a french description
- the commercial district's map name has "Cnady Land" in it
+ i like the damage pop ups! neat thingies.
- after you win the first battle with Fries. Donno says "you're just jealous of my streigth!" when it should be "strength". same with Brook when he first appears.
- "Donno and Donna hoined the team!"
- all of the heal points after the fight with fries speak french
- the message you get when trying to return to candy land is in french
- the dialogue between the trio upon arriving in food city is also in french
- Donno's menu portrait has a missing left border :P
- the pink fellow before the presidential quarters speaks french.
- the "no damage" messages should be "didn't take damage!" instead of "didn't took damages!"
- when first mentioning the Dokrats Brook says "thinked" - replace it with "thought"
- the "enemy down" message has been untranslated
+ HAHAHAHHA Donno's quote when interacting with the Dokrats tablet XD
+ the EXP Pills are a novel item idea. i like them!
- i've found it disappointing how the enemies in the first parts are all just recolored fries. you have so many food products to choose from, why the same guy we fought in the beginning? D:
- the skills in the game use both TP and SP but the amount of SP that's spent on the skill is never specified anywhere, only TP :(
+ the enemy index is fantastic!
- Donny doesn't actually learn the double attack special skill

to sum all of the above up, the game's text needs to be polished a lot. all the other aspects work in great tandem. i figured your first language isn't english - neither is mine, but that's why i specified all the parts that should be corrected, to make your job easier. i'm sure i missed quite a lot of other errors and un-translations but still. the game is a gem in the rough. polish it into a diamond. wish you and the project well :)
