i know i already commented, but i just wanna say my review and report a bug.
its a really good game and all and it has alot of potential! though the death scene (except the one for falling in a bottomless pit) is kinda long so i think its a good thing to add a shorter death scene option or something, and a pause menu.
theres only one bug i found so far, which is the pipe's hitbox. if you try to jump under the top outer rim of it, you can get stuck, and that definitely isnt good when im either getting chased or something.
other than that one bug and the death scene, its a pretty good game! also DAMN luca's death in the end and title screen is BRUTAL, looks VERY painful, poor child.

Managed to beat it!
First stage got a tiny bit annoying with the bullet bills, but i eventually made it through and the rest of the levels were not that bad

8-year-old Lucas lived in a poor and abusive family, and the only person who supported him and gave him gifts was his uncle Mark. In 1985, on Christmas Day, Uncle Mark decided to treat Lucas to a new NES console with a new copy of Super Mario Bros, but he didn't have enough money to buy it, so he ordered it from a pirated website for a low price. Lucas started playing the next day, but he didn't know what would happen to him that day.
Lucas wasn't the first victim.
