What if Five Nights at Freddy’s was made after the movie?

This game reimagines the original Five Nights at Freddy’s experience as if it were developed in the wake of the films. Familiar mechanics return, but through the lens of the movie’s tone, story, and characters.

You take on the role of a night security guard Mike Schmidt at Freddy Fazbear’s Pizza, an old abandoned 80's Franchise Pizzeria which shut down in the wake of five missing children. The animatronics still roam after hours. The rules still matter. But this time, the atmosphere is different, the narrative more present, and the building itself feels like it could be hiding something deeper.

Built in Clickteam, just like the original games, this project is designed as a love letter to classic FNAF. The familiar gameplay loop remains intact: limited power, creeping paranoia, and the constant fear of what you can’t see. However, it introduces subtle updates and new ideas inspired by the movie’s tone, characters, and storytelling.

This is my first-ever FNAF game, made with respect for the original, while exploring what the series could look like if the games were created after the movies.
