Gayrune, stylized as gayrune, is a mod of Deltarune inspired by RIBBIT and Nudealert which replaces many of the main characters with characters from other franchises, and contains many sprite and dialogue changes along with some code changes, featuring a story which is similar to that of the original but has very important differences. It is less shitposty than its inspirations, but still allows itself to have some fun.
Many characters featured in this are from franchises containing some truly upsetting content, as I really like the characters and wanted to give them a chance to shine in a story without any of the nasty baggage of their home turf. These include:
-MahouAko
-Mogeko Castle
-Happy Sugar Life
These will also be supplemented with Touhou and OMORI.
NOTE: Just because I am using these characters does NOT mean I support these works (aside from Happy Sugar Life it's just really fucking dark). I would not recommend looking into any of these (except maybe HSL if you can stomach some really dark shit).
Questions I Will Likely Be Asked:
Q: Why use these characters if they're from works containing vile content?
A: Because they've turned into comfort characters for me, and having to wade through nasty content to engage with my comfort characters sucks ass. So, I'm making my own thing where they can exist and interact with each other without any of the nastiness.
Q: Why supplement with Touhou and OMORI of all things?
A: Because the main featured works have relatively small casts, so I decided to pick two large-cast favorites of mine to fill out the rest.
Q: What all will be changed?
A: Almost everything in the Dark Worlds will be at least visually changed, or at least I'd like it to be. Hometown, however, will be primarily the same, aside from dialogue changes relating to the new characters and plot (and literally one Light World npc I decided to change).
Q: Are you looking for people to work on this?
A: Not actively? If anyone would like to join, I'll accept them, but I'll probably be at least trying to get a good chunk of the main characters' sprites done before anything else gets done, and that's all on me. If you would like to join, keep in mind that I'm primarily looking for someone to help with code (because I have no idea how to use UTMT for programming stuff) and music, as I'd like to do most of the sprites and all of the dialogue myself.
Q: How many chapters will this span?
A: The hope is for it to encompass Chapter 1 & 2, and then potentially have a completely original 3rd and possibly 4th Chapter to wrap up the story, although that's a long way away.
