What do you think?

This is one of the best indie games I've played. The artwork is simplistic, and very soothing. The music is another great element, especially "Transparent Memories," which is on my iPod. Also, the morals portrayed in the game are very relatable and nicely conveyed. The two characters seen are not very complex or groundbreaking, but each serves their purpose well. The girl in the pink dress represents the human mind's tendency to fall into denial, procrastination, and to block out the world, swimming in one's own made-up truths. The girl in the green hoodie is the polar opposite: a depiction of the blunt, honest truth. The hole in the road appeared because the unnamed main character found sanctuary from his frustration, but soon began to realize that he was going nowhere, and found a new road. If the game is meant to be taken as a literal story, then it's just as good. If you look deeper into the game, you start to notice strange, but miniscule details. For example, the girl in the pink dress remarks that she has lived in the town her entire life. She doesn't appear to know why or how, but she acts like she enjoys living there. However, there are a few things that imply she is concealing something. In the bottom floor of her house, there is an overturned table and multiple chairs, also on their sides. Also, the girl only smiles when you're in close proximity to her. This has led me to believe that she is trapped in the town and secretly wants to escape, but she fears the real world. As a result, she sometimes becomes overcome with anger and internal conflict, and takes out her negative emotions on her surroundings. The girl in the green hoodie is a completely different character. She is very blunt and upfront, telling you exactly why things happened the way they did. She doesn't offer anything other than advice and facts, but I soon began to trust her more than the other girl. In the end, when you say your goodbyes, she still never says anything more personal than "Get outta here," but the final scene is what makes her character strong. I found the scene to be very emotional for a number of reasons, but I can't quite put it into words how the last still image impacted me. Overall, this game is quite a work of art, and if you're one of those people who doesn't believe that games can be art, then play this. Please.
