this looks nice, ill have a try right now.
“Doom Junior… Good and good for you.” ...Electronic Entertainment Magazine
The above quote couldn't be more perfect for this unofficial fan remake of I. M. Meen, the 1995 edutainment FPS made by Animation Magic of CD-i Zelda fame.
Powered by the same engine used in games like Doom and Heretic, MeenTC accurately recreates the gameplay segments of Meen while also updating certain aspects to provide a better experience. In addition, MeenTC restores cut content back into the game, and even adds a few hidden levels for the bravest bookworms out there.
And, best of all, MeenTC does not require any commercial IWAD to function. You only need its IWAD and the latest version of GZDoom, and you're good to go.
I. M. Meen???
Ignatius Mortimer Meen, that is. The nastiest librarian you'll ever meet. And does he have a book for you! Open it and you're drawn into his 36-level labyrinth. It's dark, it's twisted, and you'd better use your agility and your brain.
Giant Spiders, Rat Men, Gargoyles, and sloppy writing lurk around every creepy corner. With real-time, 3D scrolling action, this game is real. Watch out for that sludge ball... it'll mess up your screen! Zap that Frankenmeen with your Fire Wand. Take aim and fire with a handful of Explode-O-Fruit. Jump! It's a Mad Scientist swinging a stethoscope.
Good work. Now, fix the bad grammar in that scroll, and you're on your way to the next level. Get ready: The further you go, the "Meener" it gets!
Be Quick. Be Smart. Beware.
(Please note that a couple features of MeenTC - such as scroll edit mode - are missing due to my lack of ZScript knowledge. Who knows? They might show up in a later update.)
