I definitely dont know how to play chess, but I might play this for a three random games video :D
Description
Play a game of chess where you, the mighty king, lead your troops to victory over your enemies. Decide if you want to play a classic chess match or an enhanced one, where each piece has its own unique skill that can turn the tide of the game. Do you think you have what it takes to achieve victory against your enemies?
Game details
The chess board is represented as a battlefield, where your troops will be fighting. Your troops are depicted with their matching weapon:
The infantry (pawns) uses their swords to defend their king
The knights take advantage of their speed and use spears to open a path in the enemy troops
The officers (bishops) decimate their enemies with their mighty halberds
The ballistae (rooks) launch projectiles deadly to anyone on their line of fire
The queen supports her forces with her greatbow, which excels in range and agility
The king may be slow, but that is because of his twin greatswords, making him a force to be feared
Development details and plan
"Medieval Chess" is actively under development. It is currently in "alpha" version. In the next version "pre-beta", I will add the advanced moves along with a score board and animations. For the "beta" version, the "enhanced" game mode will be added, as well as different animations for being attacked, depending on the attacking piece . For the official release version, an AI opponent will be added.
Disclaimer
This is a personal project in order for me to learn 3D modelling/animation and unity and how to prepare the models for games. I try to progress whenever possible, but with the university in the way, it will take some time

First post of the year, first actual steps towards the game's development. I added a very simple menu and i made a preview of how the pieces will be shown when selected. For more details see the video's description.

I finally finished with university's projects and had some time to do the video. It is somewhat overdue, but better later than never, right ? (☞゚∀゚)☞. Render time ~ 10 hours. Next month is exam period so progress will be slow.
