What do you think?

This looks amazing! How is development going? Will there be a public build soon?

Hi! Your game looks great, i can imagine when the game is fully playable, it will be ton of adventure underground, i know that this is still early stage, but it is already looks good. Keep up your great work!!

why the screen shakes and go black if u press space???

I have a video of one of the errors, shall I send it?

It seems to me a game with potential, quite entertaining and that if more resource management mechanics were added to it, it could compete with many games of this type.

The main mistakes and things that should change about this game (For me), around which I know this is a very early stage in development, are:

It seems to me that it is necessary to polish the artificial intelligence of the enemies (whom I am going to call slimes), since, for example, when you dig a tunnel they can see you even if you have a wall in front, and if they are following you that way and You make a hole to where they are (that is to say where the slimes are) they take a long time to attack you.

Other thing may be that it is done on purpose, since from what I understood, you are a small child in a cave and that is why the tools are so big, but if that's not why they are so big, I think it would be better if they are reduced a little.

Regarding the slimes, I just wanted to report that you when they slimes follow you through a tunnel of 1 width, if there is a corner, sometimes it dives and runs through the block that makes the corner.

Also say that when you walk to the right and touch down, the character continues to walk to the right as if you had not touched anything.

You can chop any block that is 1 distance from the player, I thought it would be better to only be able to chop the ones that are to the right, to the left, back and forth.

It should be noted that some of these bugs occur in very detailed circumstances, I am trying to replicate them.

For now nothing else, I will continue playing ha ver if I find an other error ; )

Sorry for my spelling, I don't speak English and use the translator XD

The game was going to be turn based but through trial and error I've decided to have it open movement. Other aspects consist of permadeath (to a degree), randomly generated, have lots of variation, lots of grinding, replayable, near pixel perfect graphics, have a complex crafting system and some more that Iā€™m sure will come to me within the week!

Progress:

  • Fully working grid based movement (16x16);

  • Randomly generated blocks;

  • Randomly generated map (960x960 - 3600 blocks);

  • Different block types (dirt and stone);

  • Randomly generated ores in blocks (gold, copper and roots);

  • Randomly generated pools of water;

  • Character has a swingable pickaxe;

  • Blocks can be damaged and broken;

  • Blocks now drop an item (dirt block drops dirt, etc);

  • Slimes! These too way too long to code... stupid things;

  • Slimes now chase and damage the player;

  • Health and Vigor added;

  • Blocks now have resistance. You can't mine ones that are stronger than your pickaxe;

  • Added basic sounds;

  • Basic inventory;

  • Swingable pickaxe and sword;

  • woo!
