What do you think?

Probably better than Megaman 11

My first impressions of the game (after a complete runthrough):

The dialogue at the beginning is very simplistic. You should also add some type of "Press Any Button" Queue to skip it, as it is very long. (I know that you can skip it, but adding it to the screen would help the player know that). That being said, all of the artwork shown in this sequence looks very professional, and had me quite excited to play the game. You have a good ear for music as well.

Firstly I'd like to comment on the overall visual appearance of the game, (As in it's menus, tileset, spritesheets, etc.) The game looks fantastic. It captures the whole "retro" feel quite well. Contrast between the background and foreground is very appealing, and many of the smaller details such as the background Mona Lisa-esque pictures having eyes that look at you create a sense of atmosphere that really helps to bring the player into the game's story.

Within the game itself, I have a few gripes but I'd like to clearly state that the game is quite good. The physics are extremely similar to the originals, and the enemies function quite well. I'm not a huge fan of the default controls, so maybe add a function to swap to at least one more premade control scheme? Arrow Key movements are quite terrible. I would recommend WASD movement with O,P,L,K functions seeing as these are much more comfortable to most keyboard gamers. Also pressing space as an input to menus is quite awkward, why not the 'Enter' key?
In terms of gamepad/controller functionality, however, the game plays beautifully. Everything feels just as it should (With the exception of "down" on the joystick being too easily pressed to mess up jumps. Maybe add a customizable deadzone option? Or just increase the deadzone for that one direction). With this being said, why not advertise gamepad functionality? The only way I was able to figure out the feature existed was by getting annoyed with the terrible keyboard controls and giving up, only to plug this in as a last resort. With the keyboard, I had trouble with the game on the "Easy" difficulty. That's coming from a Megaman veteran, so that's definitely not a good thing. Once I had my controller plugged in, I was able to play the game as I felt it was made to be played. The controller is perfect, but PLEASE fix the keyboard controls. I beg of you. You''ll easily lose half of your potential playerbase if this isn't fixed.

I love the bosses. Not much to say about that. The way you programmed them to use moves seen previously within their stages was genius. Learning how to fight those earlier enemies is put into more practical use for fighting the big baddies themselves. They follow set patterns much like the originals, and once you adjust to the pattern and identify how to fight them from offensive patterns learned earlier within the game.... ahhh im gushing. I loved every boss fight. I do believe the first stage of the Yellow Devil fight is a bit much (largely because of just how tall he is), however thats not a big problem, more of a personal preference. I just think its odd to have an enemy that you can't fight with the buster.

Overall the game is very solid. Surprisingly, I didn't run into any bugs, and trust me, I looked. I'd rate the game a 6 or 7 out of 10. I'll be following this and awaiting the full release. I hope to see this game flourish!

Awesome fan game. Great music, challenging levels and a 3 of the best megaman characters to choose with diferent gameplay. For me, the best part of the game is how you can use your weapons to go further into the stages and to get the power ups. Very clever. Waiting for the full release.

Adorei o jogo pena que ainda tá na demo beta.

I am here to leave a respectful critique.

While the plot's concept is great and the graphics & soundtrack are simply BRILLIANT for 8 bit fangames, I feel that the cancellation led it to feel like QUITE a dissapointment; perhaps if you're not going to complete this fangame, maybe someone else who's also a good fanfic writer could be in charge of the project?
