What do you think?

kinda have 1 problem with this and is that even if you download a binary for 0.6 so that you can play the mod, the binary copies the saved data from the version of supertux you always use

The first release of PepperTux, after all this time...

Game Soundtrack

1 song

Arctic Darkness (Song by AnatolyStev) (Includes a reference to "Clavelian March" from SuperTux)

Nolok captures Penny, but this time, the levels are different, and it's kind of nostalgic.

How To Install

Just download and use the run_peppertux_portable.bat file to run the game in a portable way. I don't know what SuperTux does there but you avoid save file issues with this method.

If you found any issues, report the issues to the GitHub Issues page for this repository, or the comments of the GameJolt page of PepperTux.

Story

The same story as SuperTux, basically, Tux goes to a picnic with Penny, but Nolok attacks and captures Penny, leaving just a note telling Tux that he doesn't stand a chance at getting Penny back, so Tux goes forward to Nolok's Icy Island castle, hoping that Nolok and Penny would be there.

The Purpose Of This

PepperTux is meant to be like SuperTux 0.6.3 with some 0.7.0 things. It's a mod for SuperTux 0.7.0

There's really no purpose, just here for fun.

This isn't meant to be "finished SuperTux before SuperTux Team does it", although it is kind of that (to be honest, by the time Tropical Island or Snow Mountain is finished in this, SuperTux will likely already have one or two of those (Tropical Paradise / Mountain Peaks)), it's meant to be a fun little "what if" question, like what if old SuperTux had the new worlds and even a Desert world? (Secret Desert, as it's a secret world)

Also, the worldmaps are different now.

The levels are also replaced with new ones.

Source Code

This is a mod of SuperTux v0.7.0 that edits the source code... or at least it will at some point, just not really now since there's no need to. Yes, sector_parser and various badguys have sprite files changed, but that's not really that noticeable in-game.

Apparently it's WIP Wednesday so I'm gonna show the next level that is gonna be added to the repository soon along with the Crystallo enemy.

Edit: By show, I mean this post. I don't show anything on the official WIP Wednesday post comments.

Something I just noticed is that the brick sound seems to play like 3 times at once when hitting a brick that has nothing in it.

If PepperTux runs extremely slow on your computer, compile it for html5 instead of Windows / Mac / Linux (use lime test html5 -debug instead of lime test windows/mac/linux -debug)

For some reason, Icecrusher seems to slow down the game a lot. I'll have to look into why this happens unless it's just a problem with my extremely old laptop that literally has a Windows 7 product key on the bottom of it.

Nevermind, all I needed to do was reinstall Haxe 4.3.7. Might've messed something up in my "path" thing trying to build the SuperTux Editor.

This and lime test windows -debug not working is driving me insane.

The next commit will probably finally make the fall sound play in the position of the enemy that plays the sound.

I just uploaded almost every sample from SuperTux Milestone 1's .mod files. Why? I don't know. Probably because I realized every SuperTux soundfont doesn't have some of these samples.

New commit added to the repository, it adds new worldmap tiles, the Icecrusher (small) enemy and the first cave level.

Hold on... I have an idea for new enemy because of a bug with the Icecrusher... What if, moveable Ice Crusher that falls but doesn't go up again...
