Honestly, I still don't understand how some people don't realize that this game isn't as good as it's made out to be. I would say that as a fangame it is extremely terrible and has serious errors in both design and levels.
Frankly, I still don't believe how the lack of context and misinformation behind its disappearance has generated so much hullabaloo that most people believe that Nintendo has cancelled this game.
What I'm about to say I'm not making it up and I'm not just saying things for the sake of saying them. Actually, it was me who created the game, that's right, believe it or not I am OmegaFlowey1234. I've been out of the Mario fandom for almost 3 years, since then, things have never been the same. But, you know what, I'm really happy and above all glad that at least I'm more comfortable developing and creating new projects after I cancelled that dull mess years ago.
I am not doing this to generate controversy or anything like that, just that but I will tell it like it is.
I found out about this re-upload thanks to a video of a user who made a longplay of the game. Rather than giving me a nice feeling, it turned into the opposite, I mean, “Is there any reason why anyone would even non-ironically like this?”, or, “Does this even have any historical value?”, or even, “Is this game even special?”
I mean, it's fine to like it, but as a game it fails in too many areas. I'm not saying this because I'm finding fault with it, so don't come back to me with, “You have low self-esteem”, or, “You lack self-esteem”. As its creator, I have the right to express what I want with my works, without depending so much on the opinion of others, either positively or negatively.
This game is the perfect definition of wasted potential in every sense, it raised interesting concepts and ideas, but they were resigned to be totally wasted. Poor level design, graphics that today look pitiful added to a bad programming and an unfair difficulty only makes that as you analyze it more and more it has more and more errors than you think.
Even since it became a lost media for a while I felt really happy. It will sound quite selfish on my part, but, sometimes it is better to leave certain things forgotten and realize that certain things you saw and admired when you were a kid were not as good as you thought they were.
As your developer, just to give you an idea, when I did APJ I was a 12 to 13 year old brat with my ego through the roof, as I got older my perception and my way of seeing things has changed by then. I'm almost a young adult now, it's obvious that I don't see those things as special as I did before, this game has brought me more negative things than positive.
Yes, it helped me to realize my mistakes as a developer and to polish my other projects that came before it, but, even so, I will always consider it as my black sheep in my list of games. It literally left me almost on the verge of PTSD, with everything that happened during the time I had developed the game.
I know this is a stupid question, but is this game complete or not finished?
I have released it! Yes, the ANDROID PORT to this amazing game!
I downloaded the game but can't seem to play with my Xbox controller. I turned the gamepad option on in the menu screen but still nothing. It's wireless. I have a 8bitDo adapter
Thank you for reuploading this. I didn't get the chance to experience this when the orginal upload was up
