The so-called "Smile Drug",  is not a conventional narcotic but a highly infectious, spore-based fungal pathogen scientifically known as Abaliomundo risus, commonly referred to as “The Jester” or the “Smile Virus".

Contact with the drug  include involuntary smiling, facial spasms, manic laughter, hallucinations, violent behavior, severe physical degradation, and ultimately death. Contact with the substance results in a progressive onset of symptoms over the following weeks, including but not limited to involuntary smiling, facial spasms, manic laughter, hallucinations, violent behavior, severe physical deterioration, and ultimately death.

This assessment is distributed to all stations across the United States and is intended to assist all active personnel in becoming more familiar with identifying and responding to individuals affected by the Smile pathogen.
