I also included this game in an article of my favorites!
Alright, I gave it another try. I liked the ending, very chilling, kinda twilight-zonesque.
So yeah, I replayed the game with the walkthrough, here's the video!

In English this time, because it's Wednesday.
Hey there, very nice game. I wished there was a walkthrough though, cause I couldn't reach the end, but really wanted to uncover the mystery of the place.
Here's a let's play: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DuulLMaYaLw
Note: Yah sorry, Tuesday is "French Day" for me, so I had to make the video in French :-P
Super creepy and atmospheric. You did a great job creating a sense of danger and mystery. I hope you continue work on this, and I'm interested to see what else you make.
Some notes (if I'm being picky, it's because I enjoyed the game, so I'm trying to provide constructive criticism):
it's a bit buggy at times: for instance, it's not possible to look at the 2nd and 3rd hanging bodies unless you're in a specific location.
the text flashes by too quickly, and sometimes I click the mouse and it disappears even more quickly. This is a problem if the text only appears once (i.e. not triggered by looking at sometime)
I feel like I should be able to shoot the door or windows to get in the house ;-)
I had to look at the hints - I had no idea the door had a lock that was obstructed (the text description just said the door has no handle, and there was no visual to indicate it had a lock). It's also weird that a screwdriver would help, but lock-picking tools wouldn't.
if I could use lockpicking tools to unlock the back door, why not the dirty door?
even if you kill the dog, it still says "he is dangerous and won't let you pass" ;-)
I still don't know exactly what happened at the end of the game, and I'm not really sure how the words on the statues let me talk to the stone gods to make them sleep. But the player character seemed to know ;-)
Awesome job on this! The fact you managed to get a Thimbleweed Park vibe on the graphics AND code it all custom in 14 days is pretty mind blowing. I unfortunately got stuck so couldn't see the ending but even so, I really liked it :)
You're a hitman.
You usually don't kill women or children but this time is different: the money is huge, and your contractor said that this is a mission is better not to refuse.
The target is a little kid - in a remote house on a hill. You don't know if there are other people in the house with him - his parents, or his tutors - he should be alone (they said) but if there's anyone, just kill him, they said.
They'll pay plenty for each kill - no matter what, no matter how many.
But you should kill the kid, and do it TONIGHT
