I really liked this game. I was very immersed and the soundtrack felt very fitting. There are a lot of small inconsistencies, but none of them are badly story or immersionbreaking. Overall a good game and a good use of time.
There are some points of improvement of course:
Not al controls are taken away from the player while reading notes, this makes trying to move still audible and the player able to turn
More variation in footsteps would be nice (if only change in pitch)
I'd suggest implementing a jumping and/or landing sound
The text pops up before the lighning strike, so maybe put a little more delay on that
A pauze menu would be nice
Sometimes when trying to close a note it doesn't do that the first time after pressing 'E'
Falling from the stairs at the end is instant which gives a strange feeling, and movement speed is increased on the stairs
Spelling mistake 'authanasia' should be 'euthanasia'
These are a lot of points I could find, but they are all very small things, and other people might not even notice them.
Things that I especially liked were the dynamic soundtrack, transitions were very smooth, and I want to say again how much I liked the atmosphere and the story.
Keep up the good work Joost :3
An immersive story about a man who would do anything to change his fate.
Meant to played as an experience of 20 to 30 minutes.
