Fantastic job! Great looking pixel art and an intriguing story with lots of content. I was very impressed with how large the game was considering it's a game jam entry. I got two different endings; I'm not sure if there's more? Music was a tad repetitive, and some of the dialogue was difficult to understand at times (some spelling and grammatical errors), but overall an excellent entry.
Really liked the art style, very smooth animation. Like the mistery beneath it. Spent some time trying to get the hotel woman get distracted but could not find the way. Might try again later.
We also created a game for the jam if you want to take a look. Is called "Zeqecu: Machinaria Files" Cheers!
I have only played half an hour or so, but I rather enjoyed it. The pixel art is well done and the game overall has a very solid feel. Only the texts could use some proof reading. I definitely want to continue playing.
Greetings from Austria :]
And now I have finally played your game! I'm going and random order, but I have to admit I was looking a little extra forward to this one.
The size of this thing is really impressive. There's commercial adventure games with a smaller scope then this. You have me under a spell from the get go when it comes to the plot.
I had some problems with some of the hotspots though, like the cell phone in the room, because it was so small! This wasn't a big problem though.
I also have to compliment the walk cycle: Wow! It's a thing of beauty, so smooth! The character art in general is great, and where as the location in itself is a little grey and anonymous, it helps the characters pop out from the picture.

The Background Story
Your friend Giulio - that's also the brother of your wife - is missing for a week now. It's not the first time he cuts contacts. Being a freelance investigative journalist takes you out of your comfort zone, that's clear.
But he missed his sister's birthday, not even a call - and that never happened before.
So you both checked his notes and discovered he was searching for a possible serial killer. A very smart one, because, if he exists, nobody noticed.
One or two guys or girls each year. They simply disappeared, nothing too strange about that.
But Giulio found a possible pattern, and the most probable area for the killer to live in is a out-of-tourist-routes Tuscany area. Hills, small forests and some very small and isolated villages.
There are several names in his list, but one is underlined: AlberoNero.
That's your destination.
Not really knowing what to do.
If Giulio's missing, maybe the serial killer exists. And so ask around about him could be not the wisest thing to do.
