What do you think?

The game is really cool, it's simple and fun, it gave me some Zelda vibes (about the movement: it can be slightly improved but I feel the tile based movement it's fine, it adds a little more challenge and a retro style to the game). Thanks for sharing!

i love the game, got stuck after the second orb, and know you can fix the alignment problem, but the puzzle and the secrets are great

I'm playing on 1.0.1, but I can't attack enemies from above or below, only the side. Makes the game quite a bit harder. In the forest area to the bottom left, I can walk into those creatures from the bottom and 'push' them a bit if I want into them for awhile.

For only having had 5-10 minutes to play, I can't wait to come back. I also intend to show this to my game dev students. They always aim so high, and this game is so simple yet so engrossing for what it is, very impressed. I don't know if you noted anywhere, but I'd like to know what your dev process is, software, art, etc!

Soo I finished the game and I have to say i took me some time to find everything. The pushable objects are quite buggy though and the End could be more fancy. Its a lot of fun anyways and I could imagine to see more of it. Do you want to hear about the bugs i encountered? Is there a way to make it not in the comment section?

Tiny Tales, is a mini-adventure where you explore the land, solve puzzles, fight enemies and level up. All on a single screen! The game was designed with retro limitations in mind and adheres to the C64 palette and a 320x200 resolution.

The idea was to have as many places, puzzles, items, secrets, etc as possible on a single screen and make it challenging despite everything being in view from the start. Besides exploring and puzzles there are enemies to fight and levels to gain.

Instructions:
Arrow Keys to move around.
Space to open inventory and space again to use an item.
Bump into enemies to fight.

Enemies will strike back as you hit them, but with training you can emerge victorious against any foe. Weapons will be used automatically if in the inventory.

Here comes version 1.2! This version finally has some music! I have also added some new dialogue to the ending/post game and fixed some smaller issues (mainly balance).

Seems I accidentally uploaded the wrong archive for the Windows-build of version 1.1. So if you run Windows, please download again and you will finally receive the real version 1.1. :)

Version 1.1 is out and now the game works as it should! Highly improved collision system makes navigating and hitting enemies work better. You can now pause the game using ESC and there's new sounds and loads of bug fixes and quality of life improvements.

Thanks to everyone who has commented and followed! :D I'm happy to get so much feedback. There is still much that needs improving with character movement, several newly discovered bugs will be fixed and the game will also get music and more sound effects!

Version 1.0.1 released! This version makes the player character move faster, fixes a bunch of problems with the character being "off" by a few pixels resulting in unwanted collisions, stops enemies from giving health and some other bug fixes. Enjoy!
