A screenshot of my map editor, created using Unity.

I wanted to go for a top-down 2D RPG look while having the advantages of 3D environment. Pixel art textures, pixelated rendering and cube marching was used in order to get the desired effect.

About terrain shape generation:
Each terrain block that can be placed consists of 3x3x3 cube marching algorithm 'points'. That was done in order to find the compromise between high-res smooth cube marching terrain and cubic voxels.
The terrain is divided into chunks and each chunk is one singular mesh, which helps with the performance

About terrain textures:
Each terrain block has a separate 'side' and 'top' texture tile assigned to it.
The texture transitions looked kinda ugly and abrupt, so in order to solve this a pixelated texture transition effect had to be made.

Not a big update (visually). Laying groundwork for runtime game editing - currently implemented Stat I/O. This would allow to push a tiny JSON to change a portion of a game. The color picker UI with colors generated from a palette image is also visible.

Back in my art school days I used to ride the 710 COPSA line from Parque Del Plata to Montevideo almost everyday. This is the Marcopolo Viaggio G4 Mercedes Benz model from the late 80s, one of the older bus models that was running on the line.
