Akira here!

Tenkijo Devlog No. 3 and Merry Christmas!

TENKIJO DEVLOG NO. 3 - THE 3RD IMPACT OF TENKIJO (Just kidding)

Akira here!

As of now, development is pretty slowed down at the moment: My PC keep malfunctioning after I celebrated the birthday of Idia Shroud from Twisted Wonderland as a wildest birthday celebration in 2021 (IMO), the examinations are near, as well as the longing for my Christmas present (an Evatchi Tamagotchi Nano) to come home pretty slowed my game progress nowadays. But honestly, I have finished through the initial designs of the 1st and 2nd area of The World ("the Corridor"), and the basic layout of Yukimi's room. If you want to take a look, here's the screenshot for them:

Looks pretty good but due to MV's absurdistan map image scaling, the pixels appeared pretty weird in these photos.

For those, I've honestly have put a lot of effort for that, but all of them might need 2nd pass once 2021 is ending and 2022 is approaching.

Also during that moment, I have designed some of the Catacombs' random encounter enemies. So far they only includes a Tsuchigumo-like species called "Tsuchigumo (Dubious) (Japanese: 土蜘蛛「疑体」)", but more will be revealed in later devlogs.

After the Tenkijo art style is revised, the thumbnail, header and icon of the game will be renovated in the near future so as to match the new art style.

For the music / audio aspect, most of the important midboss / boss themes for the demo as well as the themes for the later Stages (Stages 2-4, as well as Stage 6) are done, albeit the Yumemi's home and Stage 1 theme probably needs a more "revised" version. Due to Driller, one of the game's main composers, is on a trip at the moment of writing this, I cannot ask him to make a revised version of these themes right now.

For gameplay, the Stage 2 boss fight of Act 1 (the current Act in development so far) would be what I called the "easiest" boss fight in the entire Tenkijo series. Details on this will not be revealed as of this and the 4th (possibly the 5th and 6th as well) devlog. But I am pretty sure that due to the battle's nature, it will probably be tricky for me to design and plan.

Anyway, all of the things above are the recap of my activities on Tenkijo in the past few months! So, Merry Christmas and see ya in the 4th Devlog (which is scheduled to be on March 14 next year)! Hope that everything will go fine in 2022!

Until next time,
