Hey ya'll. Sorry for the happy-sad announcement.
Angel's is going on a temporary hiatus. I've become burned out. Specifically, being stuck in the coding development phase and redoing the maps and code systems has drained me. I'm filled with creativity but Angel's just... has me stuck. I do still love the project and I do plan on returning to it, but at least right now working on it feels physically impossible. At the advice of some friends, I've decided not to push through it and take a break from the project. I'd rather not work on something I don't want to and make myself hate it or burn all my creativity altogether.
I'm sorry guys, there's nobody in the world who wants this game made more than I do. I've devoted years to it. It will be made, I'm just... tired of this game. After my break, I'll return like a phoenix and come back stronger than ever!
But in the meantime, I'm still going to be making fangames.
I've got a fangame called New Royals which is an adaptation of my fancomic, Fallen Royalty. It'll have a side-story game adaptation that'll be released in August. The planning of this game is all done in my head, it's just a matter of writing down a script and the portrait artwork. (overworld is 70% done) That'll be out sometime next month.
Outside of New Royals, I decided to make a new game, NIGHTFELL, a nonstandard Underfell AU. I know, I know, 3 projects to lead is a big task. I initially wanted it to be a sprite comic but I haven't found an organic, easy way of having comic navigation work how I'd like. Rather than compromising my ideas, I'd make it into a video game format to make navigating the story as a reader/player easier. And then, heck, might as well go the full way.
New Royals satisfies my desire for a visual novel narrative and consistent updates. Angel's is my dream game, but I'll get burned out on that. I want Nightfell to be the side project that I can work on to play with new ideas that I wouldn't be able to do with the others.
As sad as I am that Angel's is being a bummer for me, I feel more free right now with this new project. I'm genuinely excited and looking forward to making something like this.
I hope you all can understand and stick with me as I go through these changes in my creative endeavors. Hope to see you soon!
