Angel's Lullaby: October 2022 Devlog!


Hey ya'll!

Happy early Halloween!

I hope everyone stays safe and has a spooky fun holiday! Lil known fact -Halloween is my favorite holiday of the year!


In the future, devlogs will be double posted -Once by me in English, than in Spanish by @OwO07Official. I'll repost the banner and link to the finished Spanish devlog. Massive thank you for the huge undertaking this is every month!


Firstly, a bit of news: I got a job! Idk my schedule or hours yet but I hope it won't cut into my game dev time too much! As far as I'm aware, the current schedule and release will continue as planned.

Alright, now onto the game's progress!

Well, the Battle System hasn't gotten fully finished yet. But it's getting close! We've got the full term system, enemy and bullets and collisions set up!

We're in the middle of coding the death state (thus the HP is so low). Next up: all the button functionality and the win state. I'd imagine at least 2 more calls -so by the end of the month.

In addition to the battle, several coding systems need some refinement or are out right being redone. We are switching from JujuAdam's "Scribble" to a full new text system made by Lasers. (Thank you!) and Eternal is rewriting the character state machine. (Also thank you!)

With the start of the new text system, i've imported the intro and have finished timing it. It's a process of converting the script into readable strings (text ingame) and importing old code and fixing it up with the new systems.

Here's hoping I can still finish the fully playable build this month! Things are progressing steadily. Next devlog (outside the Spanish translation) will likely be asking for playtesters, so keep an eye out for that B)

A lot is going on behind the scenes these last two months but sadly I can't show those results without ruining the magic of the demo release. Likely as we continue closer to the finish line, I'll have less and less to show... so hold on tight!
