Hey everyone,
It’s been a while. I want to share an important update regarding Shadows Awaken.
After the release of the Chapter 1 demo, I went quiet. Truthfully, I wasn’t proud of the demo even before it launched. I knew it lacked substance, minimal gameplay, noticeable flaws, and overall, it didn’t reflect what I had originally envisioned. Releasing something I wasn’t satisfied was stupid. Out of that disappointment, I quietly stepped away from game development, thinking maybe I had lost my passion.
But time away only reminded me how much I love creating games. Bringing my ideas to life and sharing my vision through this medium is something I truly care about. I realize now that a setback shouldn't be the reason to give up.
I want to sincerely apologize for how I handled things, disappearing without explanation and letting a single failure shake me. But I’ve made a decision: I'm returning to game development, and Shadows Awaken will continue, not as a FNaF fan game, but as an original project.
And no, I didn't use FNaF to gain clout or popularity. I’ve been making fan games of this game for over 8 years, I’ll always be grateful to the franchise that inspired me. But this time, I want to build something entirely my own, a world, story, and experience that reflects my vision from the ground up.
So moving forward, everything, from models to narrative, is being rebuilt from the ground up as an original title.
What can you expect?
Without revealing too much just yet: Shadows Awaken will be an "anime-ish" action-horror game rather than the original psychological horror concept, and now with gameplay influenced by titles like Resident Evil 7 and 8.
Expect to see work in progress contents be posted here soon! The page will be updated slowly, but for now I'll keep it as it is.
