Basic zombie AI, Path-finding and moaning!

Blargh. Today’s been all zombie AI, path-finding, collisions and instance deactivation madness hell crazy brain hurt.
I’ve finally implemented the sounds Brenton and I mashed up the other day (week?) for the zombies, they seem to moan randomly and die pretty efficiently now, and they also absorb bullets, so that’s good news.
Right now I’m making blood decals and stuff, conceptualising how bullet casings might fly around.

The zombies now try to attack you (or move towards you, so far), next up it will probably be how the player takes damage, and giving the zombies shadows/legs etc.
After all that I’ll probably work on throwing the zombies into how the maps randomly generate, placing chunks of zombies or singles or whatever.

Damage will probably be in bites, like waiting for a timer to go off when you’re standing next to an infected.
I also set up some basic parenting so I might be able to make various types of zombies with different abilities (later!).

I can’t thank the guys on GameJolt’s chat, The GMC IRC, Twitter and the GMC enough for their incredible help with my AI and instance deactivation mess today.

Special thanks to FatalSleep, Derme302 and YellowAfterlife.
Which reminds me, I also made the credits today, just an RTF, but I’ll actually have to redesign it all and make some pretty images as well for a literal credits form, as a room sooner or later. (scrolling credits, and thumbnails with links?)

Some time ago, we posted a screenshot of the Mexico level. A curiosity about it is that, like some other scenarios of the game, it was inspired by a real landscape, The Basaltic Prisms of Santa María Regla. It is one of the natural wonders of the country!
