Notice
As you all know, BallPlay Cupid is basically finished, but still in beta.
My planning is now to use the first weeks of June to “empty” my issue tracker, and test the game through thoroughly on all three platforms. Once this is done, the game will officially no longer be beta, but count as officially stable.
In other words, if you want to be sure to find a bug I don’t know about and to report it, NOW is the time to do so.
Please report all bugs on my issue tracker
If you really don’t want to make a github account, then report your bug in the comment section of this news article and I shall copy it to the issue tracker myself (you only won’t get notified of any fixes that way).
Now that Game Jolt opens market place will the game still be free?
Short answer: This game is and will remain free
Long answer: The game was licensed under the GNU GPL license, so putting it up for sale is pretty senseless, since the license allows copying the game to whoever you want. Plus I code games for fun and I believe in the free software concept, so charging you for a game that did not cause me much costs to make would be pretty hypocrite from my side.
Still if you believe I deserve a reward for making this game I don’t want to deny that either. Therefore it is possible, that some games may get a “pay what you want” setup in which $0, and thus free of charge will always remain an option. If GameJolt is going to implement a donation feature it will certainly be there.
The bottom-line for this game will be that it is and will remain free.
The games I already posted on GameJolt before as in the same boat, regardless them being in development or already finished.
Novels based on games I posted (or novels on which games of mine are based) are a different story. I’m pursuing to make a career out of that, so I cannot easily put those up for free.
