Game
Blob Person

Blob Person just got a massive update! we just spent 2 months completely overhauling the mechanics and levels for the demo

Oh boy, where to begin?
Over the past couple of months, we've been hard at work doing a complete overhaul of Blob Person's levels and mechanics. If you've played Blob Person before, or just discovered it, now is a great time to come see what's been added!
I'll go over the most important changes in this dev log.

Platforming mechanics have been updated
After receiving some feedback about our game we knew it was time to have a good look at this. We've added a whole bunch of new platform types that will make navigating the levels much more interesting and engaging. Levels now feel much denser with these additions.

Blob Person's movement has changed

It wasn't enough to just add new platforming stuff into the game, movement needed a rework as well. Blob Person felt very floaty before like he was jumping on the moon. He spent an unnecessarily long time in the air. I've increased Blob Person's gravity, so now your jumps are shorter and you'll spend less time in the air, and more time jumping everywhere! In addition to the changes in jumps, I've also added a dash mechanic, Blob Person can now roll into a ball and launch himself forward a short distance. when coupled with a double jump this allows you to cross larger distances. it can also kill things.

Level 1 has been updated!
Level 1 has received a significant rework to fit with these new platforming elements. the overall layout is the same, but the way you make your way through it has changed.

Level 2 has been completely remade!

When I released the jungle level in October, I wasn't really satisfied with what it was. it was big, empty, and generally felt inferior to level 1 which is meant to be a tutorial level.
Once the new platforming mechanics came in, it was pretty clear that level 2 wouldn't be able to exist the way it was. So unlike level 1 that just received a new lick of paint, level 2 is almost completely unrecognisable. it took a while, (longer than I would have liked) but it has turned into a level I am truly proud of, a worthy successor to level 1, and a great demonstration for what I want the rest of Blob Person to be.
I hope you all enjoy it!
