Hey everyone, long time no see huh?
It's been 4 months since the last time I posted here and that's quite a long time. Obviously, I'm not dead and my prolonged period of silence was due to a lack of motivation, stress, and personal life - the usual suspects. Now that I think about it I never really shared anything about my personal life here in these devlogs. I might do that sometime in the future, but it will have to wait.
Let's get straight down to business. What have I been up to and what's next?
To be honest, these past 4 months I haven't really done anything note-worthy surrounding game development. Sure, I've prototyped a few game ideas here and there but there isn't anything big I'm working on at the moment. I'm having a bit of an artist block right now and I feel as if the ideas that I do get are way too ambitious to be completed in a reasonable amount of time. Besides game-dev I haven't done anything else worth mentioning. My life is very eventful, I know.
So, what's next? Well, first off I want to talk about Faded in Light. The game since it's launch has only gotten 1 small update. As I've mentioned before, the reason for there being no updates to the game was because of a lack of motivation to even work on it. Faded in Light took over a year and a half to complete and I felt so burnt out at the end of development that I couldn't even look at it. Despite the complete lack of updates and my absence from the community the game still received relatively positive reviews and statistically speaking did better than I expected and I want to thank you all for that! Now, unfortunately, I don't believe I will ever do another update to the game. I believe that it is good as is and I just want to move on to other projects for now.
Speaking of other projects, my next big game will be a while. As I've stated before I'm not working on anything big at the moment but I want to take my time with whatever I will be working on and not rush it like the previous games. It will once again be a horror or a game with horror elements and will most likely be 2D. The possible release date for the demo or even the full game is around the end of 2021 or the beginning of 2022. Take everything I just said with a grain of salt.
Lastly, I want to talk about LUDERE. I've seen some people asking if the game will ever come back so I thought I'd shed some light on it. The title for the youtube video I posted to my channel about the game was a bit misleading since I didn't actually cancel the game but I just put it on hold. Earlier I said that I've been making prototypes here and there and one of them was LUDERE. However, I highly doubt the game will see the light of day anytime soon. I definitely want to finish it one day though, so be on the lookout for it!
Before I leave I want to thank everyone for playing and supporting my games and everything I do! Thank you all so much! Till next time!
