As you might have noticed I have not released the final version of C0D3. And that is simply because it is not finished yet…
I was super motivated going into this year, but somehow I lost that drive. Working on the game felt more than a chore, than it was fun.
So here I am 6 months later. And up until a week ago I was not sure if I was ever going to finish the game. I have most of the stuff written out, heck I even have sketches of graphics I need to make. But I just couldn’t get myself to do it, there always seemed something more important to do, another game to play, another video to watch. So C0D3 was put on ice…
It wasn’t until I went to Philadelphia last month and saw an exhibition on video games in the Franklin Institute, that I realized again how much I admire the craft of making games. So I went back to Germany with my motivation restored. Or so I thought…
I came back and nothing. I didn’t work on the game and I didn’t even feel bad about it.
So what makes me write this post? Well, I saw my buddy fumbling in voxel-art, and he is really good. So I asked him to make me a few assets for a simple space shoot ‘em up. So I started working on that and over the last week as I keep building stuff for that game, I felt my motivation coming back. With every day I feel more enticed to work on C0D3 again, and I am sure I will.
So basically what I am trying to say is, that the game is not dead. It was only in a coma and it is showing great tendencies to wake up soon.
And as always huge thanks to anyone who is following and playing the game. For updates keep an eye on my Twitter (@AndideBob )
