Challengers Preview

Hey, all! Got a bit of special content to show off today.

While roaming the overworld, you may end up finding a new entity roaming around. This one is very easy to identify from the rest, due to it’s larger size and oddly familiar hues…

If you run into it (or rather it runs into you), there’s a pretty good chance that you’ll have a one-on-one battle with a challenger.

These seemingly possessed characters will put up quite the fight (and may even end up with a few new tricks), but beating them will bring you to a brand new screen for unlocking characters! (The photo doesn’t do it too much justice, seeing as the victory theme carries over from battle.)

Still gotta put in text, but it’ll display both the names of the skills, as well
as be another place to have skill descriptions.

Well, that’s about it for this preview. Got to do some extra work on the challengers, get more skills working, get a few more characters added, and then see how many enemies I can model/rig/animate/code in before I burn out.

‘Till next time!

Yeah, we're doing this.

So, Plan B: The remainder of tonight will run V1 of a solo OCN mode, with an updated version coming tomorrow during the end of the con.

(And a further refined public release of this later on. If there's interest.)

Suppose it's rude to come back doing polls without showing some sort of progress for it.

New look, new direction.

It's been a long time coming...

Figured it out.

First signs of danger.

While I chip away at the code for XL, I might as well show off the fruits of another thing I had tinkered with: modding custom music into Bionicle Heroes.

Suppose it was about time that some of these skills got a little extra kick.

Turns out what the game actually needed was for me to take a proper break from development and enough time to realize what I had broken.

(It was the values tied to IDing what foe it'd be.)

It'll likely need more testing, but we're back in buisiness!
