This is basically just a heads up to my followers. I've made the decision to change my online name from TheModHead, to Valcuda
Now, for those who want to read a dramatic reason, here it is!
TheModHead.....a name I have used on the internet for a little less than a decade on hundreds of accounts (which I don't have access to anymore, and I was a cringy kid), and I've been calling myself it for a decade now, it's no longer a nickname, it's a second name!
The name "TheModHead" comes from what I used to call myself when I was younger. I wanted a YouTube channel, thus I made my own name for it, and I took inspiration from a youtuber called "TheDiamondMinecart" (who was my favorite at the time)
Then one day, I made a character, who was meant to be like an alter ego, he was a stronger, tougher version of me with super powers! And I called him "TheModHead", since that was my self imposed nickname, and he was my alter ego.
However, TheModHead has since become his own character with no relation to me, other than the fact he's my character, as such, I decided a while ago that I needed to change my online name so my favorite character wouldn't be seen as an extension of me, but rather, his own self.
It's taken me a long time (about 1 month, on and off) to gather the strength to do this, but I am no longer TheModHead, I am now Valcuda! A name I took from a character in another story of mine who has no importance of any kind, meaning, Valcuda can be an alter ego!
Real talk here, changing my online identity from "TheModHead" to "Valcuda" is actually quite emotional. TheModHead is just as much of a name to me as my actual name (People actually started calling me by it IRL, except it was "ModHead", really irritated me) but change needs to happen eventually, we can't keep holding onto childhood nicknames (that we gave ourselves and nobody called us by it for most of its use) just because that's what we've always been called/ called ourselves.
I've been working on the character "TheModHead" for years now, and I want him to be his own thing, I didn't want people to associate his name with me, meaning one of our names had to change, and despite the name originating as a self given nickname, I'd rather it be mine.
Honestly, the name "TheModHead" has never really felt like my name, despite it being a 2nd name to me. The reason is because for the longest time, the character was the only one who got called TheModHead, and for a while I even forgot the nickname was originally mine.
Anyways that's all
