devlog 2 (video is gameplay of stage 1)


Music

music up to stage 6 is done, which makes it 12/15 done. i could have finished all of the music in this week, but i've been working on music too long to the point of inefficiency (2 weeks straight would do that to you). that's why i opted to work on other things and come back to finish stage 7 and menu music later.


Art

began working on the CGs for the game, so far only finishing the first stage's. before, i planned on having 3 CGs per stage, due to interests of time i'm reducing it to 2 CGs. each CG seems to take me 2 hours so i should have enough time to complete it.

expressions have been added for three characters which are our protagonists and one boss. there are still 5 more characters that need expressions. once again, a pretty simple job so i might only be adding them in when i need to (which is when i'm working on their stage)


Gameplay

stage 1 is complete and playable, as you can see from the video. difficulty might need a bit more balancing, but testing is currently a low-priority.
A lot of other stuff regarding gameplay have been tweaked such as the shot type for the playable characters, but just look at the commits at the bottom for more info


What's Next

i plan on continuing to work on the stage and getting them into a playable state. if im consistent, i can get one stage finished in two days (one day to add in narrative and do the cg, another for the gameplay).

i also want to complete all the stage backgrounds all at once rather on a stage-by-stage basis so i can get that out of the way. i plan on doing that today.
