Yikes, I haven't worked on my fan game in a long time. In my defense, I have been incredibly busy with college. And even though it's summer now, I do not currently have access to my PC which has all the game's files. However, I do still have access to my laptop with Clickteam on it. So I have been working on the game by rethinking mechanics, lore, gameplay, etc.
I made a new Clickteam project in order to create an entirely new pathfinding AI for Bonnie and Chica. Previously, they were each confined to one side of the building and their AI was essentially "either go towards the player or away from the player". Needless to say, I was not happy with this sloppy work.
That is why I just created an entire pathfinding algorithm for Bonnie and Chica that allow them to roam entirely freely throughout the building. They can go any direction from any point, and are attracted to loud noises (such as the player), so they will always find their way to you eventually. I am super proud of this algorithm (Bonnie's pathfinding alone is 108 lines in Clickteam).
The attached screenshot is the visual representation of the pathfinding in all it's glory, I don't expect it to make much sense lol...
Of course, this is just a proof of concept and will still need to be implemented into the actual game when I am back at my PC (possibly in a few weeks, maybe later). Until then, I will continue to rethink the game and push the boundaries; I don't want to half-ass this, and I want it to be a fun, challenging, and balanced experience.
