Devlog June 2021 Part 2 - Development Status

I didn't think I'd do a part 2 but I've been thinking a bit about development and I want to share those thoughts in a smaller devlog.

Multiplayer - How it is looking now

Merely 13 days ago I officially announced multiplayer, the mode itself was still in an early state. 13 days later, it's already almost finished.

We have overcome our biggest roadblock and implemented online features.

Server browsing, Hosting, Joining games; all of these work without any set up required.

I'm still working on the invite system, but before I implement it completely, I need to do a test to make sure that it'd work under specific conditions (If it doesn't work, then unfortunately the feature would go missing, as it'd be out of my control)

When seeing the state of Multiplayer after such a short amount of time, it got me thinking....

State of the Game Overall

I honestly believe development of Story Mode will be shorter than what I originally thought. If it only took me 3-4 days to implement basic Multiplayer interactions and less than a month for a nearly complete Multiplayer, then Story Mode will be a piece of cake.

We already have nearly all the planned features implemented, the remaining ones being so simple they won't stop our pace.

I still won't be announcing a release date as unexpected events can occur at any time, but things are actually looking really good. Maybe the light at the end of the tunnel is drawing near.
