Not sure if this silly tool justifies an entire Game Jolt page, so for now I’ll just leave it to this blog post.

I created a very simplistic HEX code viewer in C, which I called Heks. You can view its source code and download the tool itself, for Windows, Cygwin, Mac and Linux from that same repository.
“Heks” is a Dutch word and it means “Witch”, and the pronunciation is the same as for “HEX” (which is this case is a shortening of “hexadecimal”), so the name of the tool is a bit of a pun. :P
If you want me to create a project page for it here on Game Jolt (hey, the “games only” rule no longer exists, so I can), just gimme a yell. It’s not much, but if you have a use for it. It’s completely compatible with tools like “more” and “less”, making it useful for quick viewing.
For me Heks is a useful tool, but the reason I created it myself in C was just programming practice in C. ;)
