Here comes version 2.1.0! PvZ Infected's first world is effectively finished, more modding capabilities have been added, and development can now move into the main selling point of the game, that being a huge crossover with other games!

Additions:

  • Added the File Infector and Cyber Debugger as bosses, though only the File Infector is seen in game

  • Added levels 1-13, 1-14, and 1-15

  • Added the songs Ultimate Battle! On Your Lawn, Weed Replicator, and Glitchsonian Fist

  • Added the boss and boss rematch level types, allowing for levels to focus on fighting a single large boss rather than waves of enemies

  • Added the ability for levels to be day or night, which changes the appearance of the lawn and whether sun drops or not

  • Added a world select screen with icons for worlds 1-5, though no worlds can be unlocked yet (and attempting to select a world other than 1 via an edited save file will not work)

  • Added lawns for worlds 2-5, though they cannot be seen in game yet

  • Added error messages that appear in the browser console when the game encounters an issue with the way the level data file is written

  • Added defaults for when improper level data is attempted to be accessed

  • Added Respawning lawnmowers, which return to their original place after reaching the 11th column

Fixes:

  • Riftmakers can no longer spawn Rifts outside of the lawn when on rows 1 or 5

  • Potato Mines detect enemies directly between its tile and the tile behind it, such as in situations where an enemy is redirected by Garlic

  • Work on creating proper layering for levels has been begun

  • Currency for beating a level is now rewarded

  • Improved damage sensing

Changes:

  • The lawnmowers in level 1-0 (the tutorial level) have been replaced with Respawning lawnmowers

  • The UI that shows what tile is being planted or shoveled on now appears more transparent when hovering over an uninteractable tile

PvZ Infected's Level Data Documentation has been updated for version 2.0.3, including the new plants, levels, and changes to prebuilt seed packet decks. In the meantime, Enjoy some silly PvZ Infected Spikeweed sketches!

More plants, more levels, more fun! This update is a smaller content drop before I finish off PvZ Infected's first world, and may be the last one for the year because of the number of songs and levels I need to make as well as the addition of a boss.

Antivirus has officially released! I hope you download the full version and enjoy! Many additional modifications were done that I did not list in my last post, including:

Because of issues with layering and save data not being updated properly, version 2.1.0 is going to need to be delayed a little bit, at least until the latter is resolved. In the meantime, enjoy this icon for the first world!

I have decided to completely redo PvZ Infected from the ground up, as the older version was both buggy and annoying to add new plants, enemies, and levels. Just today, I have set myself up to make it much easier for me to expand the game.

I apologize, sincerely. You're not getting a boss this update for PvZ Infected... You're getting TWO!

Plants vs. Zombies Infected version 1.5.0 has released! This has been the biggest update yet! New special plants, enemies, and levels to enjoy!

I've made a small adjustment to the levels so that 1-12, 1-14, and 1-15 reward more coins for beating them! The changes have to be loaded with the level data button though, until 2.1.1 is released. Until then, know that rakes are going to be being added!

Starfruit is making his debut in PvZ Infected next update! Although he's only available in the shop, Starfruit makes for an interesting and challenging experience worth trying! Until version 2.1.1 is released, enjoy some Starfruit sketches!
