Hey folks, BattleJuice Alchemist patch 0.21401 is live on the Steam playtest branch! It contains all the changes I talked about in the last devlog as well as changes to our companion's behavior. You can read more right in the article below:


Hey everyone,

in the last devlog I already talked in depth about the upcoming UI overhaul. It is now completed and live on the public branch of the alpha playtest. So you might have already seen bits of the new UI and I'll only show you the local map here (because working on it is an evergreen for me) as well as the overhauled HUD tooltips:

I also took a close look at the combat behavior of our companion Plato. His freeze attack was quite unpredictable, which should now be fixed. Plato should now freeze your opponents like a champ. He is just such a good boy.

As always, there are a lot more minor changes. The full list of them can be found on our Discord as usual. I'm currently working on a quite big addition to the game that I will hopefully be able to talk about next time.

Here comes more concept art for The Well, the new town we are currently implementing in BattleJuice Alchemist. These are two more tiles of the city, namely the makeshift camp of our protagonist, Juice, and the shop of Stan, the local merchant.

As the year comes to a close, we want to say thanks for the wonderful support throughout 2024. Looking ahead, 2025 is set to be an exciting year for BattleJuice Alchemist. Wishing you happy holidays and a fantastic new year!

Madeline is the main protagonist of the mountain climbing platformer, Celeste. The game has been praised for its visuals, gameplay, and introspective narrative. The game's creator Maddy Thorson confirmed that Madeline is trans in 2020.

We're currently building new story locations for BattleJuice Alchemist, namely a city called The Well. Check out this piece of concept art by our art director Felix!
