Thanks to these guys for the funny video. It's a good showcase of the game's mechanics and some of its current flaws. I'm working on fixing some of the bugs shown here now; those Caterkiller hitboxes are a menace!

My main goal for OSF's development right now is improving the physics. I'm aiming for the next release to have 1:1 accuracy to the original game in terms of controls. The collision system has been majorly reworked to this end.
Here's gameplay footage showing the recently added Shadow, Tails Doll (who serves as an optional hard mode, chasing you at the same time as Sonic.EXE) and some of the original level design for Redux Mode. The speed of X and TD are still subject to change.

Metal Sonic is coming with his moveset from Metal Sonic Hyperdrive. Credit to Darkon360 for the sprites.
Shadow the Hedgehog is coming with his USP Tactical and looks from AsuharaMoon's Another Shadow in Sonic 1 and Double Jump from Sonic Megamix, though suggestions are encouraged.
