Game
Life in Space

I made some progress trying to find the look & feel that is budget-feasible and appealing. What do you think?

The Creature #2 Some more progress. This time, using CCDIK with 50 limbs per tentacle (I know, goodbye performance). Not quite satisfied with the results, but getting there.

Some more screens of our internal atmosphere tests with many post-processing effects and lighting points

#Atmosphere Design I've been working on testing light effects that look right on characters. I'm used to create subtle effects but for this project I'm trying to use high contrast lights seen in movies like Blade Runner and Alien

One last test image before our easter break! Alien inspired spaceships tend to have a very similar look and feel. To differentiate the different ship sections we're going to use different subtle color palettes

The Creature #1 Our motivation creating Life in Space is to make a game with an interesting enemy that serves as your nemesis. We took the concept from the movie Life as well as how enemies are killed in Dead Space (hence the WIP title, Life in Space).

The Creature #3 Due to the prohibitive performance cost of having a large CCD IK chain, we're testing using just a simple Line Renderer for the tentacles. Looks promising! We're thinking about adding a bezier curve so it behaves more like a Tarantula.

The Creature #4 We've reworked the entire locomotion system in order to use the navigation mesh. We've also added some jittering at the creature's tentacles. For the moment looks way too cute. This beast is supposed to be scary!

Successful landing
