I have run and managed many sites in the past, none of them have been successful. That's okay.

I am tired of all the ads and such across every website. I don't have a huge problem with ads, its more of what the ad is. The moderation team to approve ads is not there anymore and you see some dumb shit. Not to mention how many ads get placed on a page. I'm trying to read this article or look up a game wiki and OMG you see like 15 ads before you can even see what you are looking for and then its only like one sentence you can see and have to keep scrolling another 15 ads to see more content.

When I was running my social sites, I had a combined total of like 3k users. It did have ads on the platform but I made sure nothing was misleading, spammy or anything. I also set it up where the ads are part of the platform itself, not using google ads to track you or anything. So users who wanted to place ads had to go through many different steps to get it on. I mainly ran ads myself only to promote my Twitch, YouTube, and Merch store, I had like 4 ads from others that got passed. The other ads were scammy. I had over 300 of them. I use to delete many users cause they would try to bypass the ad system thing i had in place to promote their scam.

In total I had my sites up for about 3 years for that adventure. I still own the domains and might start them again or use it for something else. IDK

Recently I did say that I am trying to open a certain online community and safe place for people to join and learn about things to help others and to grow better. I might make it a slight social platform, but most likely it'll be a forum and such. I'm still working things out. Been working on a app first.

I'm trying to fight back the dead internet theory and more IRL space for kids and all. Big corps fucking suck and I will call them out no mater what. We don't have many safe places online and many are going away to replace parking lots and all. I wish for more public transport and walk able towns and cities. All this asphalt and concrete. Dim, dark colors. Play places are gone. You want McDonalds? Well it now looks like an office space that's greasy.

Sure sites have gotten better with how they look and flow, but its there to keep you they, sell you things you don't need, and more. I use to go to sites for some quick info and that it. Everything is now getting designed to keep on their service longer and to sell you ads you don't need.

We need to go back and spend time with each other in person. You can still be there over a zoom call and all if you are to far to really hang, but we need more connections with people and not these business unless they actually give a shit.

So overall I might start a social place again. If I do, no ads. I will make it where if you want to support it then donate, but it will be free for all, no ads. It will have a support team and will get training every month to have them get better, there will be so much I want to make sure the site has in place of safety and all. Epically if kids are going to join.

If anyone knew what Cohost was I might set it up to be like them mixed with how BlueSky is and even a bit of how GJ is.

Sorry for my long posts and rants and all, but OMG, GJ and other places need to be fixed, have better investors, and better support and communications with the user base.
